My Babysitting Philosophy

I view babysitting as a professional partnership between parents and caregivers. I align most with families who treat caregivers as part of the team - who value emotional intelligence, child development and collaborative problem-solving.

My approach is rooted in gentle parenting and the Conscious Discipline model, helping children feel safe, supported and confident as they grow. I bring a calm, playful presence to my work, and always aim to nurture each child’s sense of curiosity, independence, and emotional well-being by emphasizing emotional regulation, secure attachment, and respectful boundaries.

When seasonally appropriate, I also offer swim lessons at no added cost for children in my care. These lessons focus on building essential water safety skills and confidence through consistent practice, grounded in a strong emotional connection to foster trust and comfort in the water. Families interested in this option will need to provide access to a pool.

I charge $30 an hour, plus $2 per hour for each additional child. If interested in hiring me as your babysitter, feel free to email me at care@thenashvillenurturer.com
